The Inglis Millennium is a premier Restricted Listed race for two-year-olds held under set weight conditions at Royal Randwick Racecourse. Launched in 2019 with Castelvecchio claiming the inaugural victory, the race was originally known as the Inglis Classic, run over 1200m with a prize pool of $250,000. Its transformation into the Inglis Millennium marked a significant upgrade in both status and stakes, aligning it with the elite juvenile races in Australia.

Now offering a total prize pool of $2 million, the Inglis Millennium stands as the third-richest juvenile race in the nation, trailing only the Magic Millions 2YO Classic ($3 million) and the Golden Slipper ($5 million). The race is a centerpiece of the Inglis Race Series, a collection of high-stakes events collectively valued at $8 million. This series was formulated in partnership with the Australian Turf Club to enhance the appeal of Inglis sales and provide lucrative opportunities for racehorse owners. The Inglis Millennium is held annually on the second (or first) Saturday of February, coinciding with the opening night of the four-day Classic Yearling Sale at Riverside Stables in Warwick Farm.

Participation in the race is exclusively reserved for graduates of Inglis sales, with eligibility contingent on the owners opting into the race series at the time of purchase. The event provides these owners the chance to compete for substantial prize money, creating a dynamic similar to that of the high-profile Magic Millions series. Since 2021, part of the prizemoney has counted toward the Golden Slipper ballot, making the Inglis Millennium the first auction-house-restricted race to contribute to the prestigious race’s order of entry.

Adding further appeal, the Inglis Pink Bonus was introduced in 2023. This incentive is designed for owners with horses purchased through Inglis sales, fully paid into the race series, and held at a minimum of 75% female ownership, encouraging diversity and inclusivity in racehorse ownership.
