You probably couldn’t have CONFEDERATE LADY off the visual, with the first four past the post 6L to the rest of the field. However, the race top rated the meeting, and I didn’t think the effort was all bad, particularly coming back to this level.

Looking to expose the favourite, BEAUTY EIGHT, who is another ex-Smith galloper, having trialled up once for that stable. A 4YO on debut, squibby type, that may get away with it, but I believe very vulnerable late. CONFEDERATE LADY has a price enough to be interested.

Corowa R6 - 1000m Federation HCP CL3 HCP

BRENLYN’S DAISY is the deserved favourite, and although winning at 1200m last start, I do think she is suited back to 1000m given the way that race was run.

However, I have warmed to the trial of CHAMPAGNE SHARON, who was sharp into stride, not asked, and whilst the margin was 11.35L to the winner, she held her own in good open company inside to out. She is worth something EW given the odds to the favourite.

Ballina R7 - 1260m Tab Maiden Plate

KOBAYTERA is a very good prospect here, having boxed on well after being deep through the early and mid sections last start. She draws to effect here, being able to press and work those to her outside early, and if it is too hot, drop in and take the tag.

The only query I have is the Dunn debutant, PIERRE CARDINNIGAN. Given plenty of time, the 1260m is a good kick off point, however I believe the Dunn/Mallyon combo has been well priced in, as the trials were only fair at best.
