Handy enough race, with the market isolating three key chances and I tend to agree. That being said, I have IN SUMMER on top, resuming on the back of two tidy trials, both in solid time and both mostly untested.

IN SUMMER was very strong late in both runs in her debut prep and in each of those, they have run some time. The trials this time in, coupled with the debut run have me on side at 1000m resuming.

The main sticking point is where she gets to in run, however I do think they can be conservative give the speed on paper and the distance kick off.

Muswellbrook R7 - 1500m Vale Dot Robinson BM66

Not the strongest field and although GALANO carries 63kg, I believe the handicapper has it right being approx. 5kg above the field average.

He was solid first-up and mostly victim to a mid-race slacked when running 3^rd in a much stronger field than today’s assignment. Similar profile to last prep where he staggered 1200m to 1500m, being dominant and recording a strong figure in doing so.

I’d suggest he is more forward this time in off the trials and that first-up run.

Mornington R1 - 1000m Evergreen Turf Maiden Plate

Nice mix of debutants and some resuming runners here. I’ve been keeping an eye on a few of these out of the trials.

AQUEDUCT is on debut for the Mcevoy yard and has caught my eye at both his lead in trials. Draws well and does look well above average. He is the standout for me from the debutants.

ANOTHER DUMPLING has shown plenty of speed at the trials, and from the gate should be able to utilise that. Looks well prepared.

TOPHET looked good is his resuming run. Solid effort given he was caught wide in running.
