RACE 1
1. Namesake | J: Mark Zahra
Namesake won well on debut, and was only beaten by a horse with a softer run second-up, with the form out of that race since being franked. He only weakened late last start after having to do a bit of work in running to settle outside the leader. From barrier 4 with Mark Zahra to ride today, we’ll look to park behind the speed, which is likely to come from Golden Decade, Zoukerette and Infancy. This is an even field, but he’ll get a lovely run, from where we hope he can figure in the finish.

7. Zoukerette | J: John Allen
Zoukarette won well last time out, from a prominent position on the tight Canterbury track, with the placegetters running well since. From barrier 11 with Johnny Allen to ride, we’ll look to slide forward in company with Golden Decade and Infancy. She’s fit, well, and will be giving them something to catch, presenting as a small each-way play.
