We had originally planned for Snapback to head to Queensland, but having drawn so wide there it was only logical to keep him at home to run at Gosford. He has improved nicely from his first up run, and off the good draw we expect he will be hard to beat.
DANGERS: 8. MATUSALEM, 2. NAMESAKE
California Surreal heads to Gosford, first-up for the preparation off the back of one trial here at home. She has drawn awkwardly and is going to need luck from the gate. This is a good race to kick off her preparation and hope to see her progress to Queensland this carnival.
DANGERS: 7. THE POACHER, 3. SHORT SHORTS
I am extremely happy with Gilmore this preparation. On Saturday she drops back to Provincial grade, which will hopefully see her return to the winners circle. I do think she is a city class horse and we will continue to see her improve.
DANGERS: 1. SCORCH, 4. DEEP EXPECTATION
Ringdembells heads to Kembla off a very solid first-up performance, which has definitely helped her fitness wise. I think she will improve again off whatever she does this week, but she is in good form and I think she is going to give herself every chance in a race like this.
DANGERS: 1. MON PIERRE, 3. DOLLY BIRD
I thought Tycoon Evie’s run at Hawkesbury first-up was fantastic. She had to do a lot of work early, which just left her vulnerable late in the piece. She heads to the Silk Stocking perfectly placed and with James on, we expect her to be very competitive.
DANGERS: 6. KATALIN, 10. LOVE SENSATION
It was frustrating that we needed to kick off Russian Conquest’s preparation with some wet track trials here in Sydney, but this filly is going extremely well. We have added blinkers for Saturday and if she responds to them as well in her races as she has at home, she is certainly going to take some beating.
DANGERS: 2. YELLOW BRICK, 12. LADY LAGUNA
I thought Huetor put in a great run last start, and it was exciting to see him close off so strongly. He will be suited to the big track on Saturday. He is starting to hit his peak form, and will be following the same path as last year.
DANGERS: 1. ZAAKI, 5. DIAMIL
I thought Ranges did a good job first-up against superior horses. Saturday sees him drop back in grade, and gives him a chance to hopefully find himself in the winner’s circle again.
DANGERS: 5. FAR TOO EASY, 13. BRIGANTINE
As is the theme for the stable of late, My Whisper has drawn awkwardly and is going to need some luck. She is a mare that gets better with racing so we will be looking to see her bounce back against this sort of grade.
DANGERS: 4. FOXY FRIDA, 11. CAP DE JOIE

You only have to watch the replays to appreciate just how unlucky this mare has been this preparation. I feel that Dynasties is in career best form, but has just failed to find any luck whatsoever. On Saturday she has drawn well, and Damien is really going to suit her.
DANGERS: 4. FOXY FRIDA, 11. CAP DE JOIE
It’s a much smaller contingent for the stable this Saturday but hopefully we have a bit of luck. All the best to our connections.
A small team heads to Doomben this Saturday. Transatlantic aims to back up his impressive last start win in race five and Star Of Chaos takes on stablemate Brentwood in the last. Good luck to all connections! Gollan Racing Team
We’ll hope to keep the good times rolling and have a huge hand entered to do just that, headlined by ESTRIELLA in the Sunlight Classic, PRIDE OF JENNI doing battle in the Australian Cup, RUTHLESS DAME in the Emancipation, ASHRUN in the Tancred and ANOTHER WIL and BERKSHIRE SHADOW in the Doncaster Prelude. Good luck […]
